This is a picture of Mark Erney's store front business "Independent Satellite Systems" in 1985 before scrambling hit the industry in 1987. We sold and serviced TVRO (Television Receive Only) satellite systems for residential and commercial clients through out Virginia from 1982 until 1987. I was forced to close in 1987 due to a decline in sales because of the scrambling issue. I then started installing commercial satellite systems as a subcontractor for other companies. The bulk of that subcontract work was for hotels and teleconference networks. In 1992 I started installing and servicing "large" satellite earth stations. I still love it, and I am as excited about it as I have ever been. I love my occupation, and I love to travel. |
