| This is a 10 meter antenna removal we performed at a military base outside of San Diego, California. The electronics were salvaged and the antenna and mount were scrapped. This was a very difficult deinstallation due to the slope of the hill the system was located on, and the extremely old heavy backing structure design of the antenna and mount. The reflector panels had to be cut by hand, and then pulled out by crane because of their heavy weight. The backing structure had to be moved up the hill to a flat area to be disassembled. I am really glad they don't make them like this anymore. This was the most difficult removal we have ever performed. |
