4.5 Meter Andrew Installation GTMO, Cuba

This is a 4.5 meter Andrew dish we installed at GTMO, Cuba for the FAA. The whole installation went pretty smoothly except for the difficulty in assembling the antenna up on the windy hill where we were working. We had very little flat working space to work on and the wind was kicking up every day. If I ever run into this situation again, I will assemble the antenna down at the bottom of the hill and then haul it up on a truck assembled. I really enjoyed the beauty of GTMO. The mini beaches and lagoons are awesome. Beautiful deep blue tropical waters with a nice cool breeze most of the time. The food and lodging accommodations are excellent, and very reasonably priced. We even had an iguana mascot as shown in the second picture. We named him "Iggy", and he loves carrots and grapes. I had never seen an iguana jump before, but this guy can jump about a foot off the ground if you hold a carrot above his nose. I really enjoyed my trip to GTMO. The people were very nice all over the base, and the beauty of the unpopulated beaches is very relaxing. I look forward to visiting GTMO again.
