| These are pictures of a 2.4 meter non-penetrating VSAT satellite dish installation Mark Erney and Satellite Communications East did for Banco De Colombia in Bogota Colombia, South America back in the 1990s. This was a difficult satellite installation due to several circumstances. The satellite dish installation was on top of a twenty story building and the dish panels and mount had to be hoisted up the side of the building by a work crew we hired locally. In the pictures you can see that we were working right in the middle of busy downtown Bogota. It also took almost a month to get the satellite equipment released from Colombian Customs. One of the biggest challenges was the cable run for the satellite dish. The cable run for this dish had to penetrate twelve floors to reach the modem at the equipment location. Besides these difficulties, we really enjoyed doing this installation because of the people we met and had the pleasure to work with. The staff at Banco De Colombia were excellent and very professional. Colombian people are very hard workers and have a great sense of humor! They are really nice people and very pleasant to work with. I actually miss working in Colombia. It's a very beautiful country and I really enjoyed my stays in Bogota.
